Review: Bumble and Bumble "Grooming Creme"
Monday, October 20, 2014
There are some things a person seems to avoid as best as he/she can. For example, I try to stay away from any kind of heat for my hairstyles; I am not a big fan of blow-outs, I do not see any point in getting a straightener or a curling iron and I have not mastered any form of achieving a great hair with a little help of heat rollers. I have a big love for 50's hairstyles and a big fear that I will destroy my hair with a little heat so, I tend to stick to air drying my hair and doing top knots or other crazy stuff to achieve something of a look. There was a time when I showed up at a secret meeting with Batman and Commissioner Gordon with a turban to securely hide my bizarre pin-curl set.Turbans are a hair saviour during the most trying times. So, with that off my chest, I want to introduce you a product that has become essential for me and my hair. Bumble and Bumble "Grooming Creme" is a styling moisturiser for achieving a casual, effortless hair looks without giving you any extra effort to achieve it. This styling cream can be used on damp or dry hair, and no matter if your hair is dry, oily or normal type, you can build the product according to your needs; it is also good for thick, coarse, afro textures and dry hair. "Grooming Creme" can also be combined with other hair products to add texture and shine.Personally, this styling cream has become an essential part of my hair styling routine. Every time I wash my hair, I put a small amount of "Grooming Creme" on my damp hair ends and then style my hair on a top knot (with the help of a hair doughnut) to get a very loose curl in my usual straight hair. I have also tried to do a pin-curl setting with this cream but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone because for this type of hair styles, this cream does not give deliver a strong curl result. But with the unfortunate pin-curl set incident put aside, I have to say that I really like the lightweight of the formula, the smell of the product, which is not too heavy to annoy you and people around you, and how smooth and long-lasting the result is. My hair is less frizzy, more shiny and as the days go by, the loose curl result stays the same, with the curls becoming looser but staying fabulous. You are now leaving GothamWhether you are a hair enthusiast, straightening your hair with a blow-dryer, air drying your hair with various techniques or trying to create an effortless, soft and cool hair look with, "Grooming Creme" by Bumble and Bumble is the product that will bring out your dream hair. This is a product ideal for every hair type and for most different styling/hair need you may have; its lightweight formula, allows you to build up the product as you like, without weighing down your hair or making your hair appear greasier and less shiny. Whether you are lazy like me or not, "Grooming Creme" is a styling product that can find a way in your and your hair's heart.P.S. I thought I would kick off this week a little different but don't forget to check later for the "Sampling Monday" post!Posted by Unknown at 4:40 AM | Labels: Bumble and Bumble, Grooming Creme, hair, review | 0 comments | Email This BlogThis! Sampling Monday: The results are in, Part 3!
Monday, June 30, 2014
Happy Monday all! It's time to share my thoughts about the samples I have been using lately. There have been some disappointments and some pleasant surprises so I ended up with a sardonic smile like Joker's with one or two products. So, trying new things helps to find out what really works for you and which products you feel like you should grab some extra samples to give them time to show results.
It always takes some effort to find the right thing. Sampling Monday, let's go!
Clinique "Pore Refining Solutions Correcting Serum and Makeup" : Now these are two products so let's talk about each separately. I applied the "Pore Refining Solutions Correcting Serum" after cleansing and before moisturising my face and loved the lightweight formula but after trying it for a couple of days I didn't see any difference on my pores. As for the "Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfecting Makeup", the shade was indeed a tiny bit darker than mine but this foundation offers great coverage and does make pores appear smaller. In a few words, liked the make-up but didn't see any point to the serum.
Algenist "Algae Brightening Mask" : I am a big mask fan and I am excited to say that I totally loved this! Even though the texture was a bit bizarre for my taste, I was impressed that this brightening mask hydrated, smoothed my skin and it balanced my redness. My face looked brighter for days my complexion looked more balanced.
Bumble and Bumble "Surf Shampoo and Conditioner" : Well, these two products gave me a hard time to decide and I will explain now in detail. I have straight, which sometimes tend to be wavy so I though that this shampoo and conditioner combo would give me a more wavy result than my usual; after using these two I ended up with very light beach waves. I think that Bumble and Bumble is recommended for a better result but the "Surf" shampoo and conditioner can be used on their own or with the "Surf Spray" for a more complete look. Personally, I loved the scent of the shampoo, the lightness of the conditioner and I went crazy for the volume my hair had! This shampoo and conditioner are great but they are not as "beachy" as I expected.
P.S. I hope this round of Sampling Monday's samples is a bit of a help for you to decide which product to try or not! Have you tried any of the products that are mentioned? What did you think of them?Posted by Unknown at 12:54 PM | Labels: Algae Brightening Mask, Algenist, Bumble and Bumble, Clinique, Pore Refining Solutions Correcting Serum, Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfecting Makeup, samples, Sampling Monday, Surf Shampoo | 0 comments | Email This BlogThis! Tuesday, June 24, 2014
After a short summer vacation, we are back! With Gotham's crime waves hitting a kind of low level, Bruce, Damian and I decided to take a vacation and experience the underwater Atlantis with Aquaman and Mera. The sea always relaxes and soothes your nerves and if you are always on the edge like the Wayne family is, there is nothing salt and water won't help you forget.
Sink or swim, the sea is your friend.Sea and sun are a great duo but I kind of prefer the sea because is beneficial for the skin and who doesn't like the waves your hair gets from sea water? It is an effortless hair look to sport but in the end of the day you will kiss those waves goodbye and go back to your shiny and great hair; but let's keep this between you and me, wouldn't it be great if you could keep those beach waves for a little longer? Well, Bumble and Bumble created the Surf hair line to give us the beach, surf, cool waves that we dream of! This Sampling Monday we have the Surf shampoo and conditioner to try and see how they deliver the effortless waves look. On the one hand, the shampoo is ideal for every hair type and the clean-rinsing formula wipes out impurities and makes way for buoyant body and soft, seabreezy texture and on the other hand, the lightweight conditioning rinse imparts airy softness and texture. Maybe this might be the secret for to regaining that perfect Atlantis hair look that Mera's rocking!P.S. Did you have a quick vacation to take your mind away? Are you a fan of beachy waves?Posted by Unknown at 2:10 PM | Labels: Bumble and Bumble, conditioner, hair, sample, Sampling Monday, shampoo, Surf Conditioner, Surf Shampoo | 0 comments | Email This BlogThis!
